15th ANNIVERSARY
Founded 15 years ago, and installed in the Industrial Zone (ZI) of Barosa a decade ago, Leirivolt has known over the last few years a “constant growth in turnover”. The guarantee is from Daniel Rodrigues, the company’s administrator, who highlights Leirivolt’s ability to “contradict statistics that announce that 90% of companies disappear before the first five years of life”.
The company, which carries out work related to electrical installations, electrification of switchboards, industrial automation, maintenance and technical assistance, home automation systems, studies and projects for lighting and renewable energies (photovoltaic systems), was transferred to Barosa a decade ago. “We placed the company here due to easy access and cheaper land prices than in Zicofa Leiria and Pousos’ industrial area”, says the businessman, who highlights the location between Leiria and Marinha Grande and in the center of the country, the proximity to the entrance from highway nº8 (two kilometers away) and with the entrance to highway nº1, as well as “easy access to Batalha, Juncal, Porto de Mós, among others”.
Still, Daniel Rodrigues points out that this Industrial Zone lacks access to the Leiria – Marinha Grande road (EN242), “since the promised roundabout remains to be built to facilitate entry next to the Brasileiro furniture intersection”, as well as “the lack of more companies and if possible with complementary businesses”.
The administrator of Leirivolt also mentions that this area “has the necessary conditions for the company’s growth”, although he admits that “for activities in which covered areas above 5,000 meters are necessary, it is harder to find solutions”. For Daniel Rodrigues, the development of this Industrial Zone has been “small” in recent years, when compared to “the growth of pavilions that were built in the last four years in the municipalities of Leiria and Marinha Grande”, adding that “the IZ has the potential for a further growth”.
Currently employing 29 workers, in 2018 Leirivolt recorded a turnover of around one million and 900 thousand euros, with a growth of over 40% compared to 2017. According to Daniel Rodrigues, as goals for 2019, the company intends to “overcome this turnover, improve the efficiency of existing processes and facilities and hold three fairs during the year”.
